Chye Heng

CFO / Executive Director, Beca Group Ltd

As CFO and an Executive Director, Chye leads Beca’s finance and legal teams globally, oversees the group’s employee shareholding scheme, and provides direction regarding Beca’s governance and strategy. In his 30 year tenure with Beca, as Company Secretary and then CFO/Executive Director, Chye’s strategic and forward thinking has been instrumental in navigating Beca’s growth from a New Zealand company of 20 principals to an international consultancy employing over 3,000 people with offices throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Beyond Beca, Chye is a strong advocate of the accounting profession being a fellow of CPA Australia and a member of the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants and the American Accounting Association. He holds a Bachelor degree in Accounting and Master degrees in Accounting and Commercial Law from the University of Auckland. He is also a member of the University of Auckland Business School Advisory Board, a councillor and past-president of the New Zealand Council of CPA Australia and was a member of the Ministerial Panel on Business Compliance Costs. He has mentored aspiring managers and leaders both within Beca and the business community, and has contributed to a range of community organisations over many years.

David Stewart

General Manager - Merchandise, Foodstuffs North Island

David joined Foodstuffs in 2010 as Chief Financial Officer at FSA and became Chief Financial Officer at FSNI in 2013. Before Foodstuffs, David worked in Europe in senior finance roles at France Telecom, Orange and PWC before returning to New Zealand to work at Yellow Pages as Chief Financial Officer. Named New Zealand's "2015 CFO of the Year", David is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Post Graduate Diploma in Commerce from the University of Auckland.

Jonathan Mason

Former CFO, Fonterra

Mr Mason has 30 years’ international commercial experience in oil, chemicals, forest products, and dairy and consumer products, with an emphasis on emerging markets. Jonathan has recently stepped down as the Fonterra’s Chief Financial Officer and prior to joining Fonterra, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Cabot Corporation in the United States.

Jonathan’s move to Fonterra was his second move to New Zealand, having lived here in 2000 to 2005 for his role as Chief Financial Officer for Carter Holt Harvey. From 1985 to 2000 he worked in a variety of financial management positions at International Paper and ExxonMobil Corporations. Mr. Mason’s directorships include Zespri, Vector Limited and Air New Zealand and Mr. Mason is also an Adjunct Professor of Management at the University of Auckland, with a focus on international finance.

Julia Hoare

Independent Director

Julia is a professional independent director. She possesses a comprehensive range of commercial and financial expertise, developed from both her governance roles and over the course of 20 years as a partner with PwC. She retired from the PwC partnership on 31 December 2012 to pursue a full time corporate governance career.

Julia is currently the Deputy Chair of The a2 Milk Company Limited and Watercare Services Limited and chair of their Audit and Risk Committees. She is a director and the Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee of AWF Madison Group Limited. She is also a director of Port of Tauranga Limited and New Zealand Post Limited. Julia is a member of both the Institute of Directors National Council and the External Reporting Board Advisory Panel.

Julia is a fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and a member of the Institute of Directors.
