Gary leads the McKinsey Private Equity and Principal Investor Practice across Australia & New Zealand. He serves leading investors and shareholders on investment strategy, operations, origination, diligence, transformations, and exits. Among shareholders, Gary serves pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, and private equity funds. Prior to being based in Sydney, Gary co-led the Firm's European and African Private Equity and Principal Investor Practice. He has authored and co-authored numerous publications on Private Equity, M&A and Transformations and has been a guest lecturer at a leading university.

Doug is a Partner in McKinsey's Perth office. He is a leader within the firm's Global Energy & Materials practice, with deep experience in operations and strategy. He holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management with distinction in Decision Sciences and Economics. Prior to joining McKinsey, he worked as a CPA for Ernst & Young. He is originally from the United States and has served clients across North America, Europe, Africa, and Australia.

Jonathon Porritt, Co-Founder of Forum for the Future, is an eminent writer, broadcaster and commentator on sustainable development. Established in 1996, Forum for the Future is now the UK’s leading sustainable development charity. The Forum has a growing presence in the United States, India, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia. In addition he is a Non-Executive Director of Willmott Dixon Holdings, a Trustee of Ashden, and a Director of Collectively (an online platform celebrating sustainable innovation). He was formerly Director of Friends of the Earth, co-chair of the Green Party and as Chairman of the UK Sustainable Development Commission until 2009, he spent nine years providing high-level advice to Government Ministers. Jonathon was installed as the Chancellor of Keele University in February 2012. He is also Visiting Professor at Loughborough University and UCL. Recent books are ‘Capitalism As If The World Matters’ (2007) and ‘The World We Made’ (2013) - which seeks to inspire people about the prospects of a sustainable world in 2050. Jonathon received a CBE in January 2000 for services to environmental protection.

Michael joined the Cotton On Group in 2009 having spent the previous eight years as a Partner in the New York based private equity firm of Hudson Valley Capital Partners. A qualified CA, Michael’s acute financial acumen has helped drive the Cotton On Group to become the success it is today.

Peter Bryant is an executive business strategist and longtime member of the world-class New Zealand Program, with more than 30 years of experience developing and driving high-growth strategies for companies in the US, Asia Pacific and Europe. Based in the US since 1996, he is also a serial entrepreneur, co-author of The Growth Champions: The Battle for Sustained Innovation Leadership, and an active speaker and advisor to many leading companies as well as startups and accelerators. Peter is Co-Founder and Board Chair of the Development Partner Institute, a not for profit that will continue the transformational multi stakeholder work catalyzed and incubated by the Kellogg Innovation Network. Mr. Bryant holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration from Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand. He holds a CA from the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He was a founding board member of the Colorado Innovation Network (COIN) and sits on the Board of Advisors for Chrysalix, a leading clean tech venture fund, and the World Economic Forum’s Mining 2050 program.

Theresa Gattung is a leading New Zealand business personality and author of best-selling autobiography Bird on a Wire. From October 1999 to June 2007, Theresa was the CEO and Managing Director of Telecom New Zealand, where she led the company through world-changing technology developments. Over the last few years Theresa has been involved in a wide spread of governance positions in both New Zealand and Australia. She also co-founded the hugely successful start-up, My Food Bag, which has a turnover of around $130m. In 2015 she was made a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to business and philanthropy and also inducted into the TVNZ New Zealand Marketing Hall of Fame. Theresa is involved with a number of not-for-profit and philanthropic interests, including being co-founder and trustee of the World Women Charitable Trust, Patron of the Cambodia Charitable Trust and on the Board of the RNZSPCA National Board.

Patrick has been in executive management positions in the healthcare industry for more than 20 years and held senior roles across many sectors including pharmacy, primary care, pharmaceutical and consumer products. Patrick joined FH Faulding & Company Limited in 1991 where he worked in various corporate and divisional commercial management roles across the group. Patrick then went on to hold General Manager positions at Mayne Group Limited and Symbion Health Limited. He was Chief Executive Officer of Symbion Pty Ltd for almost six years before being appointed EBOS Group Chief Executive Officer in July 2014.

In February 2015, David was appointed Chief Financial Officer, responsible for the overall finance and information services functions of the Zespri Group of Companies. Before joining Zespri, David held the role of CFO and Vice President, Commercial and Pacific Islands for NZ Steel (a NZ$I Billion business). Prior to this David, a Waikato University graduate, worked for Lion Nathan in Financial Controller and Group Management Accountant roles, had a short period with Oxygen Business Solutions (the IT division of Carter Holt Harvey) before moving to Fonterra in 2002 where he held three senior roles; GM, Fonterra Business Services and Global Finance Integration Manager. He then moved to Germany where he was Chief Financial Officer of a JV between Friesland Campina and Fonterra.

Erica Jenkin is the Group GM Risk at SKYCITY Entertainment Group. She has over 20 years of experience in governance, risk management, assurance, and process improvement spread across a number of industries including airline, entertainment, media, banking, insurance, energy and FMCG/retail. Erica has also worked overseas during her career, in Belgium, Vietnam and the Cook Islands. She enjoys being involved with in a number of governance roles for not-for-profit boards. Erica’s role at SKYCITY includes leading, transforming and maintaining SKYCITY’s group-wide risk, assurance, insurance, and business continuity functions.

Fei Bian is a Senior Product Leader with Fairfax, passionate about the intersection of media, data and technology. He is a champion and student of both Lean Startup and Agile principles, but also recognises the need for translation between new and legacy enterprise modes of investment, operation, and risk taking, to create an environment which nurtures delivery of value and innovation for the customer and the business. Fei Bian is also a member of the Executive Forum and Adobe Analytics streams of the Adobe Marketing Cloud Customer Advisory Board, where he helps provide advice and feedback on product strategy for Adobe Marketing Cloud and Adobe Analytics respectively.

Mike was appointed CFO in 2011, and is responsible for all financial aspects of the Resene Group, helping provide large company governance and discipline within a medium sized private company culture, with a focus on business process improvement as technology opportunities present themselves.
Prior to joining Resene Paints, he worked for Oracle Corporation, Iomega, BT Europe, SBM [Saudi IBM], and Fonterra in business consulting roles, in New Zealand, Europe and the Middle East, principally in the large corporate ERP space, across a number of sectors.
Mike has a commerce degree and is a qualified accountant, and when not musing over paint production at Resene, provides governance support to the Child Cancer Foundation and Ronald McDonald House in a volunteer capacity.

Hamish is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors and has a wealth of experience in both the private and listed company space across New Zealand and Asia. A former PwC Partner, he has held senior positions in banking, private equity and investor relations and brings significant expertise in finance, strategy, marketing and investment, as well as a strong understanding of local and international markets. He currently serves as an Independent Director or Chair of a number of large businesses across New Zealand, including. Ritchies Transport Holdings, Te Arawa Group Holdings, East Care, MJB Construction (GJ Gardner), Boffa Miskell, Pedersen Group, Martin Aircraft Company and Sutherland Produce.

Jonathan has more than 30 years’ experience in the financial sector, with an emphasis on emerging markets. He joined Fonterra in 2009 from US-based chemicals company Cabot Corporation where he was Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to this he was employed as the Chief Financial Officer at forest products company Carter Holt Harvey and also served in senior financial management positions at US based International Paper. He is a director of Air New Zealand, Vector Limited and Zespri and also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Management at the University of Auckland, specialising in international finance. More recently, Jonathan has joined the board of Westpac New Zealand.

Simon Botherway is a professional company director. He currently chairs Serko Limited, an NZX-listed SAAS business as well as being a director of Fidelity Life and Callaghan Innovation. Simon is CFA qualified and co-founded Brook Asset Management Limited in 2002 which green to become NZ's largest institutional manager of Australasian equities which was acquired by Macquarie Bank in 2008, with total funds under management of $1.6 billion. Simon was a member of the Securities Commission and chaired the FMA Establishment Board. He was also a director of F&P Appliances and The Electricity Authority Establishment Board.

Susan is an Independent Director on the Board of ASB, Trustpower, Xero, Vista Group and Property for Industry. Susan is the Co-Chairman and shareholder of the fast growing start -up company Organic Initiative (Oi). Susan is a Tribunal Member of the NZ Markets Disciplinary Tribunal.
Susan is also a past member of the IHC Board, the National Advisory Council for the Employment of Women and the Strategic Advisory Board of the New Zealand Heart Foundation.
Susan's management career included a variety of executive roles at ANZ including General Counsel and Company Secretary, General Manager of the Direct Banking Group (Internet Banking, Mobile Phone Banking, ATM’s, Contact Centres and the Payments Strategy), Chief Executive of ANZ's second registered bank in New Zealand and General Manager, ANZ's Wealth Business (Private Banking, Insurance and Funds Management). Susan was also a director on many of ANZ's New Zealand subsidiary company Boards.
Susan's particular interest is helping companies to drive growth by leveraging technology and innovation in the international market place.

Simon has been involved in the primary sector for many years and his experience includes previous CFO roles and working in the USA for a public company where he managed an international finance and IT team in the USA, Russia, Chile, Japan and Canada. Simon has also spent time with an international accountancy firm in New Zealand, Canada and the USA.

Wendy McGuinness is the founder and chief executive of the McGuinness Institute. Originally from the King Country, Wendy went on to study at Manukau Technical Institute (gaining an NZCC), University of Auckland (BCom), University of Otago (MBA), Massey University (completing a range of environmental papers) and Harvard (completing the Executive Programme on Driving Corporate Performance). In 2009 she received a fellowship from the NZICA, becoming a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) for outstanding contribution to the accountancy profession and service to the community. Specialising in risk management, she prepared the 1988 report Implementation of Accrual Accounting for Government Departments for the New Zealand Treasury. Wendy has worked in both the public and private sectors specialising in public sector reporting, risk management and future studies. In 2004 she established the Institute as a way of contributing to New Zealand’s long-term future. Since then she has, with her team, published a range of reports under the title Project 2058, written the book Nation Dates: Significant events that have shaped the nation of New Zealand and attended four World Futures conferences. She continues to be fascinated by the development and implementation of public policy, in particular how New Zealand might secure its future in the long-term and in doing so, how New Zealand might become an exemplar for the world.

Sean Kam is the Chief Financial Officer of Partners Life, New Zealand’s fastest growing life insurance company which has transformed from its start-up in 2011 to a high growth company with $230m of premiums in-force at September 2017.
Most recently Sean lead the $200m capital commitment from the Blackstone Tactical Opportunities Fund for Partners. Blackstone Group is the world’s largest alternative asset manager with over US$350B under management.
With prior roles as the CFO of NZSX Listed Heartland, and the COO of pre-eminent investment bank ABN AMRO New Zealand, Sean has significant financial and risk management experience in start-up, high growth, listed company and regulated financial institutions.
Sean has applied his prior experience into embedding risk capabilities into Partners Life, an organisation that needs a pragmatic risk framework to remain nimble, while complying with its obligations as a regulated institution.
Sean is a BCom qualified CAANZ Chartered Accountant, and an INFINZ Certified Treasury Professional.

As Chief Financial Officer for New Zealand’s leading life insurer, Cherise is responsible for financial and management oversight of the Sovereign business together with company strategy.
Cherise joined Sovereign in March 2016, having worked in the financial services industry for the past 14 years across a number of senior roles in both finance and the business, including Westpac, KPMG and ANZ National Bank. Prior to this Cherise was with PricewaterhouseCoopers, ENZAFRUIT NZ International and Consultus NZ.
Cherise has developed a unique vision for her career that drives her both personally and professionally. Identified as a change leader within her organisation, she represented Sovereign as part of the Rethinking Leadership Programme in India. In collaboration with The Hunger Project, she met with elected women representatives who work tirelessly to improve the future of their villages against incredible odds. By understanding how they approach and overcome obstacles, Cherise has further cemented her ambition to make a difference and inspire the next generation of leaders. Cherise is also a member of Global Women.
Cherise is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. She holds a Bachelor of Business Studies from Massey University.
Outside of work Cherise enjoys spending time with her son Quinn (13), walking, cooking, and her main passion is travel.

Shaun is the Director of Business Development at Soul Machines, a role he has held since February 2017. Shaun recently returned from the Silicon Valley, where he worked in field sales at Verizon Enterprise Solutions, Salesforce.com, and MuleSoft.
Prior to starting his technology career Shaun played rugby in the 1999 Rugby World Cup for the US National team and had brief stint in the NFL. His role at Soul Machines is to build partnerships and work with large Enterprise and Government customers, to bring their first digital employees to life.

Sue was appointed as the CFO of Auckland Council in January 2015 and became the Group CFO on 1 October 2015. Primarily an experienced Corporate & Institutional banker, Sue has a wealth of international experience having held numerous senior or Chief Executive roles in the financial services, energy and IT sectors. Sue was the Chief Operating Officer of Westpac in Asia and Chief Executive Strategy and Reputation in the Commonwealth Bank of Australia Group. Sue is a Member of both the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of Certified Practicing Accountants Australia Ltd (CPA). She is also a Member of Global Women and was a finalist in the 2016 Women of Influence Awards (Board & Management category). She was appointed as an independent director to the board of Mainfreight on 1 January 2017.
